Highlights of interventions carried out in partnership with Village Social Transformation Mission:
1) Construction of dhobi ghaat - a common clothes washing area for women situated near public water supply at Budh Nagar, Ahilyadevi Nagar Parisar . Funded by 14th Finance Commission + VSTF
2) Cattle were drinking water from puddles formed and therefore were more susceptible to infections and diseases. Under funding from 14th FC & VSTF dedicated water tanks were built to fulfill cattle's drinking water needs, at 2 locations Ahilyadevi Nagar Parisar & Yestar all throughout main road
3) Miyawaki style Tree Plantation - Mini Oxygen Hub 15 * 60 foot , 2 forests developed, 25 indigineous tree varieties , 250 tress planted - Organic materials like animal dung, soil and brown waste utilized. School children volunteers participated in this activity
4) Under the Smt. Pankajatai Munde 'Mulbhut Vikas Nidhi' 2515; 'Loknete Gopinathrao Mundeji Sabhagruh' was built
5) Under the Smt. Pankajatai Munde 'Mulbhut Vikas Nidhi' 2515 cemented roads were built in 7 locations across the village
6) Under DPDC(District Planning and Development Office) , solar water pumps were installed
7) 'Matdaan Jagruti Abhiyan' was conducted for school students to inculcate the importance of suffrage and voting rights
8) Successfully implemented a water supply connection from a public well in Yestar to Paar Village , a project that had halted in 2007 was restarted after 13 years
9) Jointly Under Dalit Vasti Sudhar Yojana and 14th FC, water tanks were installed in 4 locations in Yestar ( Sathe nagar, Ambedkar Nagar, Nagoba nagar & Khandoba Nagar)
10) Water meters were given to 50 regular tax payer families
11) Zilla Parishad (ZP) school of Yestar was refurbished by tiling, clean up, painting and installing solar panel .
12) Under Gramvikas Mantralaya 2515 'Mulbhut Vikas Nidhi' , the road at Sathe Nagar was reconstructed using paver blocks
13) Sports Department in joint cooperation with DPDC set up an open gym next to the mini oxygen hub
14) Under Mukhyamantri Gram Sadak Yojana a 3 km pucca road in the final stages
15) Other miscellaneous activities: Distribution of school bags, tree plantation, distribution of dustbins in schools and public places ,donating basic groceries to needy populations,
In a bid to help combat the spread of novel coronavirus, RB has launched the RB Fight For Access Fund. To improve access to health, hygiene and nutrition for all. As part of this fund, an £32M has been mobilised to address the urgent collective fight against the spread of COVID-19 by breaking the chain of this fast-spreading infection. The fund will be a demonstration of RB’s purpose and fight in action- to protect, heal and nurture in the relentless pursuit of a cleaner, healthier world.
Recognising that awareness and availability are the biggest challenges in the current scenarios, RB India, commenced various activities in utilising the fund, focusing on consumers engagements to share information and product distribution. The fund will be utilised in two ways mentioned below.
Distribution of 10 million units of Dettol Soap to the most vulnerable within India.
Dettol in partnership with Bikers for Good launched #HandWashCorona, a public health initiative amidst the raging spread of COVID-19. Under this campaign, volunteers rode within the streets of New Delhi-NCR and distributed 9 lakh Dettol soaps to families in weaker/unprivileged communities.
RB will make 1 million litres of disinfectant products including Lizol disinfectant liquid and Harpic toilet cleaners to aid India’s states in fighting this crisis especially in public health institutions and at the frontline with health and sanitation workers.
Donating critical protection equipment – 3.5 million N95 masks with a focus on pharmacists and health care workers. These will be distributed across our major markets.
Dettol in partnership with leading Bollywood actress, Madhuri Dixit released an engaging public service announcement #ApniSurkashaApneHaath to encourage viewers to practice hand washing.
The RB Fight for Access Fund will benefit from 50 per cent funding from corporate, matched by funding from each of the three business units, Hygiene, Health & Nutrition.

For the COVID-19 outbreak, PATH in India is working with state governments, innovators and partners to deploy testing, surveillance, mitigation strategies, and to strengthen health systems. Their teams are also helping to plug gaps in health systems, provide support to develop and strengthen systems that are preventing, identifying, tracking, and responding to the COVID-19 outbreak. This includes policy, preparedness, information, education and communications support, capacity-building and strengthening, digital and data strategies, accelerating innovations and collaboration with the partners.

The Tamil Nadu Urban Sanitation Support Programme (TNUSSP) - a consortium of organisations led by IIHS — supports the Government of Tamil Nadu (GoTN) to effect improvements along the entire urban sanitation chain, particularly Fecal Sludge Management, across 663 towns and cities in the State, It has launched an initiative sharing the success stories of #WomeninSanitation. They Celebrated International Women's Day on March 8, 2020, with a shout out to these champions. TNUSSP while working in septage management in Trichy, Coimbatore and Kanchipuram districts identified some women for their exceptional contribution to urban sanitation development. Women from these areas, which include officers, Self-Help Group (SHG) women and sanitary worker, are featured in this series of 'Women in Sanitation'. The objective is to encourage women to participate and contribute in the sanitation movement and lead to more community lead and sustainable development. The women featured in the videos have done exceptional work in bringing positive change in the Sanitation landscape of the country.
